About the Sea Vixen

The twin engine, twin boom-tailed Sea Vixen is such an interesting asymmetric concept, and very futuristic looking even today. It is a two-seat combat aircraft capable of supersonic speeds. It was operated by the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm during the 1950s being retired in 1972.

Sea Vixen
The de Havilland Sea Vixen was a British two-seat carrier-based jet fighter.

The world’s last flying Sea Vixen (G-CVIX XP924) was one of the few remaining Cold War jets still in the skies. However recently, due to a problem with the landing gear damaged sustained in landing the aircraft is not currently airworthy, however the owners are appealing for donations to help restore this ‘Foxy Lady’.
